Digitization and decarbonization, aerospace, batteries and energy storage, lasers and catalysts - high-tech metals such as palladium, nickel, lithium and rare earths such as neodymium are of central importance for the development of new technologies and the expansion of important future industries. This is especially true in the context of the upcoming energy transition.
But like Dr. Heinz-Werner Rapp, founder and head of the FERI Cognitive Finance Institute, explains in this video (available in German), only a short time after the current energy and gas crisis, Europe is steering itself into a new dilemma: the more Europe tries to free itself from Russian natural gas through alternative energies, the greater dependencies arise with exactly these "strategic metals".
